J.A. Crockett Pty Ltd
Corlette St Development The Junction
This project consisted of a new four storey building for three levels of GLA space, including the fitout of two levels for Mulch Health & Sea Change.
The building features timber look battens to the street front and a curved on plan awning on the top level.
The Sea Change fitout boasts a 500mm radius cornice which is seamless from the ceiling to the wall, including a section that follows a curved wall making a curved on plan and curved on section detail which was seamlessly executed. It also features in the waiting area a ceiling bulkhead / pelmet which looks like a wave creating a very interesting ceiling in the waiting area.
The Mulch Health fitout has curved archways everywhere and very tight curved radius walls to encase the columns. These definitely bring a point of difference in the fitout providing a great aesthetic look and was really well executed with the integration of arched windows into the fitout.
Forming all the different curved cornices which was seamless from the ceiling to wall or ceiling to changed ceiling height was not an easy task. Radius' were achieved at 150R, 200R, 250R, 300R, 405R, 500R, 750R to make the archways, cornices and bulkhead waves in the ceiling. Probably the hardest part was the 250R radius cornice which also curved on plan, this was very skilfully done by hand.
Products Used: Rondo Metal Stud Framing & Suspended Ceiling Framing, Knauf Plasterboard, Fletcher Insulation, Deco Timber Look Battens, James Hardie Exotec & FC soffits, Aluminium Skirting, Supapanel.Builder: Core Project Group
Architect: SBA / Mi Chi Bu
