The building is a four storey classroom facility with a playground on the roof & ground floors and 16 classrooms over the central two floors. It features 900m2 of Surround Cladding, 1800m2 of Autex Composition Pinboard to most walls including to curves, 80m2 Duo V Line pinboard, Autex Cube which ran in a curve up the soffit of the stairs like a track, Woven Image Viaduct ceiling baffles over the central stairs, 500m2 of Vogl seamless perforated plasterboard which filled coffered bulkhead ceilings in each classroom and open space, 1000m2 of Primepanel FC+ was used as a feature to the soffits of each concrete coffer, 28 floating prefinished Decorlux dropped ceilings was used on the ground floor with return FC bulkheads all around, shadowset aluminium skirting was used throughout the classroom fitouts.
Further development of the design for construction was required in a number of areas, these included CAD drawing out the Autex Cube cutouts for the underside of stair soffit feature, Decorzen Decorlux change from FC to Exterior grade timber and addition of FC bulkhead curved returns for longevity & durability, co-ordination of the way the Shadow set aluminium skirting would work with the door and window jambs and with the interchanging Pinboard / joinery / plasterboard finishes and to make this look good, development of set out such as the Surround Cladding and the Primepanel FC+ finishes, co-ordination of Woven Image shop drawings for the Viaduct acoustic baffles, co-ordination with all the joinery features throughout.
The overriding challenge on this project was to make the many different prefinished products selected work together well and deliver on a very high standard of quality products and finishes. We are so used to having a painted finish in our trade, on this occasion the majority of the products installed were prefinished and additional attention to deliver a quality handover. Products Used: Rondo, Fletcher insulation, Primepanel FC+, Knauf Plasterboard, Autex Cube feature soffit linings, Autex Composition pinboard, Woven Image Echopanel Viaduct, Instyle Acoustic V Line Duo, CSR Cemintel Surround Cladding, Decorzen Decorlux perforated timber soffit panels with return FC curved bulkheads, curved archways, curved partitions, curved bulkheads, fire rated partitions, acoustic rated partitions, Thermal insulation, Seamless Perforated Vogl ceilings within coffered suspended ceilings, shadow set aluminium skirting.
